The majority of Department of Mathematics research activities is pursued through Research Centers. These include:

Faculty

The faculty size currently exceeds one hundred making this the largest portuguese university mathematics department.

DMIST preprints 

Electronic access to the list of Department preprints is available. It is expected to extend the system to local research centers. Note the list is extremely incomplete and the interface is under development. Browser support for MathML is a requirement.

Outreach programs

Ciência Viva

The Department and the associated research centers engage in outreach activities in particular in the Ciência Viva nas Férias program since its start in 1997/8.
