Overview

The UT Austin - Portugal International Collaboratory for Emerging Technologies (CoLab) is a program funded by the Portuguese Nacional Science Foundation (FCT) which is aimed to develop advanced programs of research and education in collaboration with the University of Texas at Austin.

The cooperative initiative involves the Institute for Computational Engineering and Science (ICES) and the Department of Mathematics at UT-Austin and mathematical research centers and groups in four Portuguese universities, namely at the Mathematics Department of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), the Mathematics Department of the School of Sciences of UL (FCUL), the Mathematics Department of the School of Sciences and Technology of UNL (FCTUNL), and the Departmant of Mathematics of the School of Sciences and Technology of U. Coimbra (FCTUC).

The project "Cardiovascular Imaging, Modelling And Simulation" (Eureka! 4990 SIMCARD) has been endorsed by the Eureka network, the biggest industrial R&D network in the world. The PI of the Project is Prof. Adélia Sequeira, from the Mathematics Department of Instituto Superior Técnico.
