Welcome to the homepage of Gabriel Lopes CardosoI am the holder of a newly created Invited Research Chair in String Theory and Mathematical Physics at the CAMGSD research center, located in the Department of Mathematics of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). This Chair is jointly funded by the Portuguese Science Foundation (FCT) under the Invited Research Chairs initiative, the CAMGSD research center, the Department of Mathematics of IST, and IST. In consequence, the String Theory and Mathematical Physics research group at IST is expected to grow in terms of numbers of students, post-docs and permanent positions in the coming years. Starting date of my position in Lisbon: April 1, 2009. To commemorate the start of this new group, a three-day international conference on the Physics and Geometry of String Theory , entitled The IST String Fest , was held at IST on June 29 - July 1, 2009.
