Welcome

I am a professor at the Mathematics Department of Instituto Superior Técnico. I am currently the Head of the Department.

I am a geometer and my research interests include Poisson and symplectic geometry, Lie theory and integrable systems.

I belong to the Center for Mathematical Analysis, Geometry, and Dynamical Systems. I am the Editor-in-Chief of Portugaliæ Mathematica and an Associate Editor of Journal of Geometric Mechanics. I am a member of the executive committee of the European Mathematical Society.

During the 1st semester of the academic year 2011/12 I will be in charge of Seminário de Matemática (LMAC).
